Alpaca Flanders was established in 2007, by Hanne Van De Winkel. Being an animal friend, it has always been her dream to breed animals. Her partner, veterinarian Thijs Flahou, treats only alpacas in his practice ‘Alpa-vet’ (www.alpa-vet.be). A daily professional and veterinary care for the animals is the result of this.

We only work with the best stud males. Silverstream Flashback, Greenvale Arturo, NZ Southern Chief Big Foot, Stoneleigh Shang Warrior, Aquaviva Claudius and Aquaviva Raphael are all very successful in the international show circuit. Numerous first places and Supreme Champions are on their names (click here for show results). ‘s Worlds most famous bloodlines are available in the pedigrees of our stud males.

Apart from the stud male, the quality of the breeding females is also very important, because the cria receives 50% of its genes from the mother. Our best females make part of our Embryo Transfer Programme (Read more about Embryo Transfer in alpacas). This makes our genetic improvement much faster than in a traditional breeding programme.

The results of our breeding strategies are stunning, and available for inspection at our farm in Geluwe.
